Common questions about AIM
What is AIM?
AIM stands for Accelerating Implementation Methodology. It is a research-based change management system created by Don Harrison, founder of IMA Worldwide. AIM helps you close the gap between installing a change and achieving sustained adoption.
Where did AIM come from?
AIM was developed by Don Harrison through decades of field research and practice across organizations implementing real change. The method grew from what consistently worked in day-to-day implementation, not from theory alone.
What is AIM’s core focus?
AIM focuses on implementation as a discipline. You learn to treat resistance as data, make adoption measurable, and manage the people side of change with clear actions that support sustained use in daily work.
What do I earn with AIM Practitioner Certification?
AIM Practitioner Certification confirms you can plan and run implementation work using AIM tools and routines. You leave with a practical approach you can apply to projects, programs, and change initiatives where adoption matters.
What are the prerequisites for AIM Practitioner Certification?
You should be active in change work, program or project delivery, HR or OD, or an internal implementation role. We also recommend completing Introduction to AIM first, especially if AIM is new to you, so you start the certification work with shared terms and expectations.
Does AIM Practitioner Certification count toward the CCMP?
Yes. The program is delivered by an ACMP Qualified Education Provider and provides QEP education credits that can be applied toward CCMP education requirements.
